About
Creating Access for Recreational Experiences (CARE) in Kansas City was founded in 2020 as an organization designed to financially assist individuals with developmental disabilities. The goal of CARE KC is to help individuals (with DD) achieve their goals through participation in experiential activities such as camp, sports, art classes, prom and much more.
Mission
In an effort to create access for recreational experiences, CARE focuses on providing fun and engaging opportunities for adults and children with ranging cognitive abilities to ensure inclusion in the greater Kansas City area.
Vision
Through an educational, experiential, and recreational lens, CARE will pursue financial support for life long, authentic, and impactful opportunities that will correct stigmas, biases, and preconceived notions of our community members with ranging cognitive ability levels.
Values
Using respect, inclusivity, and fun, CARE stands for supporting all people in connecting, and better understanding of unique perspectives on life, personal views, and the greater community. This will be a two pronged learning approach for not only the staff member but also the participant and will include building patience, self-reflection, personal growth, and unconditional support.
